Whats the secret to a great relationship? Only those who have been married awhile and know please answer.?
I am dating a girl right now but we are very marriage minded. I wanna know from those who are living it out. How do you have a passionate, caring, loving, perservering relationship?
Knowledge and selflessness.
Been happily married now for 15 years. It hasn’t been all peaches and roses but when the foundation of the relationship is right, you two can endure the hard times. Sometimes the two of you are not going to FEEL loving toward one another – that’s when you’ve got to KNOW that you love each other. Soon thereafter, feeling loving returns to your marriage.
Both of you have a profound faith in God should be first, followed closely by a strong desire by each spouse to serve each other. Always caring about the other person’s outcome and happiness. Lastly, I would say that each spouse needs to be happy with him or her self on the inside.
Remember, “Your spouse cannot make you happy. He or she can only add to your happiness.”
Lastly, as Dr. Mike Murdock says, “If you love something, you’ll study it.”
So, study and read early and often books on relationships.
